DESCRIPTION

PLA filament is the original printing filament and the recommended filament for newbies to 3D printing. A heated bed is not absolutely necessary but is definitely recommended as is with all filament. Fil-X PLA Filament is manufactured using completely no additives. (besides the color). You will therefore use filament that is the best for the environment as one can get. Translucent PLA is slightly clear when printed and will allow some light to pass through the object but does depend on your slicing settings. The Filament prints with similar settings as with normal PLA. The filament is slightly hygorscopic and have to be kept dry, however, absorption is slow and storing in its original packaging is completely adequate for more than a year.

PRINTING METHOD

Initial bed temperature of 5 to 10 degrees higher than the rest of the print will improve bed adhesion but is not crucial. For faster printing the temperature can be increased with a maximum temperature of about 230DegC.

Printing Temperature: 205DegC .. 215DegC
Heat bed Temperature: 55DegC .. 60DegC
Recommended bed surface: not specific - almost any

IMPORTANT NOTES

CLEAR does not mean GLASS. Any clear filament with the exception of PC (Poly-Carbonate), will have a milky finish once printed. The Translucent properties can be improved slightly by printing higher temperatures.
