Professional 3D CAD design and modelling services

Turning your ideas, sketches, and concepts into precise, production-ready 3D models and technical drawings.

What we do

Whether you are starting from a rough sketch on paper or need an existing file converted and refined, we provide accurate, detail-focused CAD design services for mechanical parts, enclosures, sheet metal components, and complete mechanical systems. Every model is built with manufacturability in mind, so the files you receive are ready to move straight into production, prototyping, or further engineering review.

Services

3D CAD modelling and technical drawings

We create fully parametric 3D models and associated technical drawings from the ground up. Starting points can include hand-drawn sketches, photographs with dimensions, written specifications, or a combination of these. Deliverables are clean, well-structured models suitable for manufacturing, simulation, or design review.

STL to STEP conversion

Mesh files in STL format are not directly editable in most professional CAD environments. We convert STL files into STEP format, producing solid geometry that can be dimensioned, modified, and used in downstream engineering workflows.

Mechanical part and object modification

Existing parts and assemblies can be updated to reflect revised dimensions, new features, or changed functional requirements. This service applies to files provided by the client, or to original designs created within this engagement.

Enclosure design

We design enclosures for electronic, mechanical, or industrial applications. Designs account for component fit, access requirements, mounting, and the intended manufacturing method, whether that is CNC machining, injection moulding, or sheet metal fabrication.

Mechanical system design

For projects that require more than a single part, we design complete mechanical systems including multi-component assemblies, motion constraints, and part interactions. Designs are documented clearly so that manufacturers, engineers, or reviewers can interpret them without ambiguity.

Sheet metal design

We produce sheet metal models and flat-pattern drawings that account for bend allowances, material thickness, and fabrication constraints. Output files are suitable for submission directly to sheet metal fabricators.

Panel labelling for CNC machining and laser engraving

We design labelled panels with accurate text placement, cutout positions, and engraving geometry. Files are delivered in DXF format, ready for CNC machining or laser engraving without further conversion.

Prototype manufacturing management

Once a design is complete, we can manage the process of having a physical prototype produced. This includes identifying suitable manufacturing processes for the geometry and materials involved, preparing and submitting files to fabricators, reviewing quotes, and coordinating delivery. This service is available as an add-on to any design engagement and is intended to reduce the administrative burden on clients who do not have established manufacturing contacts or wish to streamline the path from design to physical part.

How a project works

  1. Enquiry - The client provides sketches, dimensions, reference files, material requirements, quantities, and intended use.
  2. Scope review - We review the brief, confirm whether the project falls within our accepted scope, and clarify any outstanding details.
  3. Quote - A project quote is provided based on complexity, deliverable format, and any manufacturing management requirements.
  4. Design - Modelling and drawing work is carried out to the agreed specification.
  5. Review - Draft files are shared with the client for review and feedback.
  6. Delivery - Final files are delivered in the agreed formats upon project completion.

Project scope and limitations

Being clear about what we do and do not take on helps ensure that every project we accept receives our full attention and produces a useful result.

Work we accept

  • Mechanical parts, assemblies, enclosures, sheet metal components, and panel designs
  • Projects where the client can supply sufficient dimensional information or reference material to produce an accurate model
  • Modifications to designs where the client owns the original file or holds the rights to the product

Work we do not accept

  • Organic or sculptural designs, including figurines, character models, and decorative objects without functional mechanical geometry
  • Surface modelling or freeform surface editing
  • Reproducing, reverse-engineering, or modifying an existing product unless the client can confirm ownership or the legal right to modify that design

Intellectual property requirement

All modification and conversion work is carried out on the understanding that the client either owns the original design or holds documented rights to modify it. We do not reproduce proprietary designs, copy competitor products, or work from reference samples where ownership cannot be established. Clients are responsible for confirming their rights before submitting files or samples.

Get a quote

To receive a quote, send us your project details including:

  • Sketches, photographs, or reference files
  • Key dimensions or dimensional drawings
  • Material preferences or requirements
  • Intended manufacturing method, if known
  • Quantities required for any prototype or production run
  • Intended use or application of the part or assembly

The more detail you can provide at the outset, the more accurately we can scope the work and provide a meaningful quote. We are happy to review preliminary sketches and advise on the best way to proceed before a formal brief is submitted.
