Returns and Refunds

Last updated: 23 October 2026

We want you to end up with the right part, working. This page sets out what happens
when that does not go to plan. Nothing here takes away your rights under the Consumer
Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Changed your mind — 7 days

Because you bought online, you may cancel within seven calendar days
of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

  • Return the goods unused, complete, and in their original packaging.
  • You pay the return postage, or bring it in to the shop.
  • We refund the price of the goods once we have them back and have checked them.
  • Original delivery charges are not refunded.

Faulty or not as described — 6 months

Under the Consumer Protection Act you have six months to return
goods that are faulty, defective or not as described. You choose whether you want a
repair, a replacement or a refund, and that choice costs you nothing.

Bring it in or send it back with your order number. If you are nearby, bringing the
board to the counter is usually fastest — we can often tell you on the spot what went
wrong.

Where a return will not be accepted

We are an electronics shop, and some damage is done after the part leaves us.
We cannot refund components that have been:

  • wired incorrectly, reverse-polarised or over-volted;
  • damaged by heat, soldering or static;
  • physically modified — legs cut, pins removed, boards cut down;
  • used in a way the specification does not support.

Static-sensitive parts supplied in sealed anti-static packaging cannot be returned
under the 7-day change-of-mind rule once that packaging is opened. The six-month
faulty-goods right still applies.

Consumable items — filament, solder, adhesives, cleaning supplies — cannot be
returned once opened, unless they are faulty.

Wrong item sent

If we sent the wrong thing, that is our mistake. Tell us within 7 days and we collect
it or pay the return postage, and send the correct item at no charge to you.

Damaged in transit

Check your parcel when it arrives. Report transit damage within 48 hours
with photographs of the item and the packaging, so we can claim against the courier.

How to start a return

  1. Contact us with your order number and what is wrong:
    mr.jjmuller@gmail.com or 084 880 1881.
  2. We will tell you whether to post it or bring it in.
  3. Once we have it and have checked it, refunds are paid back to the original
    payment method within 7 working days.

Kits and school projects

If a school kit will not work, bring the board in. We would far rather help a learner
find the fault than take the kit back — that is usually the more useful outcome, and it
costs you nothing.
